Just minutes away from Serrano are supermarkets, retail shops, restaurants, and key services such as a post office, a fire station. Many of the retail establishments are located within two shopping centers, Raley's Center (near the entrance to Serrano) and Town Center (near the Interchange at Highway 50). In addition, La Borgata, adjacent to Serrano, a Tuscan-themed luxury shopping center offers upscale shopping and dining.

Raley's Center:
Anchored by Raley's Superstore on Park Drive near Serrano Blvd., this shopping center also includes eating establishments such as Bella Bru Cafe and Catering, Steve's Pizza, several quick-food options and a deli, plus banks, a hairdresser, specialty shops and a pre-school/daycare center.
Town Center:
Located at the El Dorado Hills Blvd. Interchange at Highway 50, Town Center is home to the 14-screen Regal Theatres, the El Dorado Hills Sports Club and a myriad of boutiques and restaurants. With its manmade lake, Town Center is designed to be enjoyed by shoppers, diners and outdoor enthusiasts. There's hiking and biking trails, an amphitheater for entertainment, and edge-of-the-lake outdoor dining for restaurant patrons. Shoppers can buy necessities at Target and Nugget Market. There are also banks, a hairdresser, dentist and doctor offices and many more services. There's luxury big-ticket shopping, too: El Dorado Hills' one and only car dealership, Mercedes Benz, is located here. For guests or business associates coming to town, Town Center offers a Holiday Inn Express.
La Borgata:
Located on Park Drive at Serrano Parkway, La Borgata brings a Tuscan flair to El Dorado Hills. Shops and restaurants are situated around a village piazza with olive trees and grape arbors. La Borgata includes office space, boutiques, upscale and casual dining. La Borgata won an architectural award in the prestigious 2005 Gold Nugget Competition.

El Dorado Hills' library is located at 7455 Silva Valley Road near Serrano Parkway. Homework areas have computers plus local public school textbooks.
The library's glass-and-fieldstone architecture mimics that of its neighbor, the Serrano Visitors Center. The library land was dedicated by Serrano Associates, developer of Serrano.
